Surgeries

Surgeries are scheduled Monday through Friday mornings at Summer Street Animal Clinic. Most surgeries are discharged between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the same day, with the exception of declaws and advanced cases such as orthopedic surgeries.

We offer general surgeries which include: Spays, Neuters and Declaw procedures. However, we also offer specialized surgeries including orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.

Anesthetic safety is paramount. We utilize the most up-to-date anesthetic protocols available, including IV catheters and gas anesthesia on all patients. All patients are evaluated not only by our advanced monitoring equipment but also by our trained and experienced animal health technicians.

Pain control is also vitally important to a successful surgical operation and is addressed on each patient. The combination of pain control and proper anesthesia allows our patients to recover quickly and return to their normal selves as soon as possible.

For routine procedures, absorbable sterilized sutures are used to prevent surgical infections and prevent the need for a return visit for suture removal.
